You get the following message on OMS (SQL Assessment) when you click its tile:
“This computer is successfully connected, but it is not being assessed by this solution pack because it does not meet the requirements to be a valid assessment target. Review the documentation for this solution pack to verify the Microsoft server role(s) and/or software required to assess a target. You can still view assessment results from other computers that meet the requirements.”
This is related to the update of the SQL Assessment solution.
We need to enable logging on the agents to figure out what was going on but also checking the. Eventually, you can follow this procedure to fix the issue:
- Stop the ‘Microsoft Monitoring Agent‘ service
- Cleared the agent cache by deleting or renaming the ‘C:\Program Files\Microsoft Monitoring Agent\Agent\Health Service State‘ directory
- Changing the timestamp of the bellow registry, so that the assessment would run again (if not, you have to wait seven days):
- Starting the agent and waiting for it to download all the management packs again and rerun the SQL Assessment
